EMDR Therapy Intensive

EMDR Therapy Intensive

Healing from trauma doesn’t always fit neatly into a traditional 55-minute therapy session. For many, weekly talk therapy feels too slow, maybe even fragmented at times. This can be particularly difficult when we’re left coping with unresolved trauma, stuck in old patterns or experiencing ongoing distress. An EMDR Therapy intensive offers a different path towards healing: one that is immersive, focused and designed to help you move through trauma more deeply outside of traditional talk therapy sessions.

What does an EMDR Therapy intensive look like?

EMDR intensives are longer, more concentrated therapy sessions. These sessions are at minimum 90min, but often last several hours in one day and are spread across a few consecutive days. This extended format allows us to use EMDR Therapy together with somatic therapy more deeply, giving space for momentum, processing, and healing that is often harder to reach in shorter, weekly sessions.

Who might benefit most from an EMDR Therapy intensive?

An EMDR intensive may be a good fit if you:

  • Are looking for trauma therapy that goes beyond traditional talk therapy

  • Feel stuck in therapy and want relief from lingering trauma or distressing patterns

  • Want a jumpstart to your healing process and can’t commit to weekly therapy sessions

  • Recently experienced a traumatic event or are approaching the anniversary of a trauma

  • Have recently completed care at a residential treatment center, where you were exposed to trauma therapy in an intensive format

  • Desire a more focused, immersive approach to healing from PTSD, anxiety, or overwhelming emotions

By combining EMDR and somatic therapy, intensives can be especially powerful for those navigating PTSD, childhood trauma, perfectionism, or people-pleasing patterns.
